Born on October 13, 1970, Ron Beermunder is originally from Branford, Connecticut. He graduated Branford High School in 1988 and then attended Southern Connecticut State University graduating with a Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Communications in 1993. Ron is a proud and active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and remains a chapter advisor for his fraternity's local chapter at the University of West Florida. In 1998, Ron entered the U.S. Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Spec Warfare training program located in Panama City, Florida. There, he went through EOD dive school (EOD Class 98-20). After four years of sea-duty serving in the Persian Gulf on board the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, Ron completed four more years as a water survival instructor under the command of Naval Survival Training Institute in Pensacola, Florida where he worked for legendary Navy diver and 30 year NAUI instructor Ray E. Smith. Ron is a published water survival expert who specialized in research, development, and fabrication of new water survival equipment and training devices for all branches of the U.S. Military. Honorably discharged from the Navy in January 2005, Ron remains in Pensacola as the owner/ operator of the Pensacola Dive Company and captain of the Sea Sherpa, the fastest dive boat in Pensacola. Capt Ron is a graduate of Hall's Diving Career Institute, the number one diving instructor training facility in the world. Certifications: NAUI SCUBA Instructor USCG Licensed Charter Boat Captain Diver's Alert Network (DAN) Instructor; and American Red Cross CPR & First-Aid Instructor. |
