Pensacola is often called "the last affordable
paradise." Our white sandy beaches, great
year round weather, and our seafood have
placed this small area of the Florida
panhandle on a very large page of the
national tourism map. Pensacola has always
been a great place for scuba diving and
honeymooners and now we are the home of
the Former USS CV-34 Oriskany aircraft
carrier, the world's largest artificial reef.
Sunk on May 17th 2006, nearly 20 miles off
shore, underwater visibility is typically at
least 75 feet. Often visibility is near 200 feet
during the summer. The top of the Oriskany
or the island starts around 65 feet and the
flight deck lays at the bottom of the
recreational dive limit at 137 feet.
Underwater wedding ceremonies are
becoming more and more popular and are
much less of a headache for the bride and
groom to plan. Most underwater wedding
ceremonies are just that, purely ceremonial
and not legally binding. Our underwater
ceremonies are legal and binding performed
under the laws of the State of Florida. Capt
Ron will marry you in the Pensacola
underwater location of your choice.
Whether it's the Oriskany 20 miles offshore
at 70' or the Massachusetts one mile
offshore at 20', your underwater wedding
ceremony will be a legal and binding
marriage contract.

Questions and Answers.
Do we both have to be SCUBA certified to get
married underwater?
Below 60 feet, Yes.
Can Capt Ron teach us to SCUBA?
Yes, but additional costs and time applies.
Do we have to supply our own dive gear?
We prefer you have your own gear, but all equipment is
available for rent.
What makes our marriage legal?
Capt Ron is a Notary Public and an ordained minister. In
the state of Florida, a Notary Public may legally marry a
man and woman in matrimony.
Once he signs your license and you file it with the county
clerk you are married!
What do we need to get married?
You must have your wedding license prior to the
ceremony.
Click here for details on how to get your license.
How do we say our vows underwater?
That's the beauty of it all, no vows to mess up, just to
read! You will write your vows ahead of time on a dive
slate. Capt Ron will present each the bride and groom
with a dive slate bearing the vows. Once read the bride
and groom will write " I do." on the bottom of their slate.
Once the "I do's" are shared, the rings will be exchanged,
and a very wet kiss will seal the deal!
What if we don't have witnesses to dive with us?
Witnesses can be supplied, but are not required by law.
COST? You better call me!
I'm sure you have many more questions.
