- Bring cash or travelers checks to pay Capt Ron for your dive
charter. All other purchases and tank rentals from the dive shop
can be made by credit card.
- All Oriskany divers must at least 15 years of age.
- Dive Certification card from a nationally recognized agency, such
as NAUI, PADI, SSI, YMCA, TDI, IANTD, etc.
- Do not show up planning to do a technical dive without the proper
certification card, equipment, or your own certified tech instructor if
you need one.
- Complete set of SCUBA gear including tanks and weights.
- Food and snacks. Bottled water and a cooler is provided.
- Sea-sickness medicine or any other meds you may need.
- DAN or another divers insurance card. It's not yet required, but
your taking a big risk not having dive insurance.
- Tobacco use is allowed when the boat is not moving, but you
should really quit anyways.
- Warm dry clothes and a towel. The ride out can get wet in rough
seas, be prepared for whatever Mother Nature may deliver.
- Bring a sober mind and a well hydrated body.
- The right attitude. No winers. We are at the whim of the weather
and the ride can be 1 -2 hours depending on sea state.
- Tipping is very much appreciated. Many customers ask what a
good tip is. $20.00 per diver is a good tip considering charter
prices have stayed the same while fuel costs have increased over
one dollar per gallon since last season. I prefer to earn your tips
rather than raise my prices.
If you are renting dive
gear.....
Get to MBT Dive Shop, our affiliate
dive shop at 7:45am and let them
know you are diving the Oriskany with
Capt Ron. Don't wait for me to show
up at the dive shop to get started. I
will have your tanks already put aside
for you, but you will need to size up
the rest of your gear. Pay the shop
for your gear before we leave.
Chuck from MBT will be most likely
helping you with the gear rental.
Chuck is the only person I trust to
work on my dive gear. He is the best
at what he does, but Chuck is also a
retired US Marine. Chuck is "like that"
with everyone. Please don't take
Chuck personally. A picture with
Chuck with cost you a pack of
Guinness Stout. Chuck does not
smile.
If we do not dive, you will be refunded
for the rental gear and tanks. You will
not be refunded if the dive is a "go"
and you decide not to dive or only
make one dive.
